Life in the fast lane!!!

Well I think that it is time to post something about what is happening in the Peterson's lives. As you all know Brandon got a new job and is loving it. He hasn't been able to go to Alaska or Hawaii yet but he is still loving the job nevertheless.
So I now have two jobs. I work at a school for the disabled in the morning and then in the evening I work for the call center doing apple rebates. The school that I work at is called ATEC. And the letters stand for Alpine Transition and EDUCATION Center. It is a wonderful program for children with disablities. I am very honored to be working with them.
Anyway onto more exciting things. Brandon's family MOVED BACK TO UTAH this month. It is very exciting. I love knowing now that we can go visit them on a weekend and only have to drive 1.5 hours other then taking a week to see them and drive 24 hours. It is a very nice feeling. :)
They moved back on the 15 of August. Brandon and I took the very short drive down to Ephraim where they will now be living so Brandon's dad David will be attending Snow College, and helped them move into there really cool apartment. Brandon's mom Marcia will no longer have to keep Kleenex in her purse at all times. When they lived in Illinios she was sick all the time. And now that she is here in Utah she isn't sick anymore. Its awesome!!!

Well Brandon and I are finally all moved in and are now officaily married. We just had our first anniversary on the 14 of this month. It is so weird to still think of us being married for that long. Its crazy and amazing at the same time. I am so blessed to have gotten such a gem. :)
Brandon had the whole day planned for us to go up to Ogden and go to the Ifly building that is there and go ski flying and also ride the race carts that are in Layton. Unfortunately we weren't able to do those things but it is the thought that counts. Right?!!!
We ended up getting to do something even better then that. WE BOTH GOT NEW CARS!!!! Ok well not new but still they were new to us. We are loving them. Brandon got a Chevorlet truck that runs on natural gas as well as gasoline. He was very happy about that. He can fill up his tank spending only 12 dollars at the most. Its awesome.
I got a Saturn 300L and it is awesome. I love it. I honestly think that it is better then our last car we had. SHHHH I didn't just say that. :)
Oh so I get to get my wisdom teeth taken out next weekend. That is going to be so much fun. I am so looking forward to it. NOT!!!! I can't believe that I have to have all four taken out at one time. I guess it is nice though so I don't have to be put under twice. I guess that is the only good thing. But oh well there is nothing I can do about it. I will just have to grin and bare it. I will survive I hope. I am sure I will because I have the best companion on the whole wide world. :) I love my husband.

Well I don't really know what else to put down in here. I think I am done with this post and I will try to update it more often then I have been doing.
I will try to put pictures up soon too. Until next time. Love to all.

Yes we are still alive

Well after the moving and the whole job situation we are still alive. Thank heavens!!!! LOL
No Brandon really likes his new job and we are loving our new place. We have been so blessed in our lives lately. We have very supportive families who are willing to help with anything. We love and thank them.
Well I ( Ruth) am still jobless and I am looking really hard to find a job. This past week I have had my hands full watching Kim Conrads kids. Kim is Brandon's aunt. I have heard that they are really energetic and they are but I thought at first that I couldn't handle them. But I could. Lol
They are now sleeping over and they are loving our new place as much as we are.

So...... Brandon went on his very first business trips last week. He went to Blanding Utah for two days. He loved it. Made him feel really important. HE IS LOVING HIS NEW JOB. (Though I do have to say that he does work some strange hours.) Anyway he gets to go to Hawaii and Alaska this summer and he is really excited. Funny story about strange hours, Brandon was at work and didn't know when he would need me to go pick him up so I just went at the time that I usually go to pick him up at. Well when I got there he wasn't ready and he told me that he wouldn't be ready for about two more hours. So I went back home and waited till about 8:30 and then went to go pick him up again. Well me thinking that he was done didn't take a book with me and when I got there at his work I asked him if he was done and he said that he wasn't and that he would need a few more hours. So I stayed with him till about 12:00 that night at his work. It was the longest night of my life. But I still love him. And very happy that he has a job. :)

We are holding a house warming party this Saturday and I am hoping that it goes well. I have never held one before and so I am nervous. I am sure that I will do well though. :)

Anyway I can't think of anything else so just stay tuned till next time and I hope that you enjoy this post.
Pictures to come!! :)

We're Coming Along

It's been an eventful last couple weeks. We are finally moved into our new place and are loving it. It's quite the upgrade from our last place, especially the neighborhood. I, Brandon, have been keeping busy with the new job. I absolutely love it, and the people I work with are awesome! I recently had the opportunity to go on my first business trip. Wasn't anything too fancy, but I went down to Blanding, UT where Eagle Air Med originated. They have an airport down there that we had to set up some video conferencing equipment and establish a virtual connection to our corporate office here in South Jordan. It was fun, but quite a boring drive. Although it was my first time going to Eastern Utah, so seeing Moab was pretty cool. As for Ruth she's had it pretty tough, she was informed a few days ago that she was being let go from her job due to cut backs in the company. She hasn't had a whole lot of luck with jobs in the past, so now we're back on the prowl looking for a new job for her so she won't go crazy being at home haha. Until then we're chugging along making the best of our new life.

We finally started making headway on our apartment. We've finished a few rooms and in hopes to get the rest done in the coming days. We didn't realize how much stuff we actually had haha.

We love you all and hope to post again soon!

The Timeline Thus Far...

The month of May has been quite an eventful month. It's hard to sum everything up in just a few sentences. So I thought that I would place a timeline of events that have occurred the last few weeks.

So for a little background information. The company that I, Brandon, had been working for (Laptops Unlimited/Northstar Computer Solutions) has had its ups and downs for the last few years. Recently I had noticed that business was not steadily coming in. As a result the money coming in was basically covering overhead and not pulling in profit. As a result I started to look for a new job, but no success came from that endeavor after many rejection letters. Business started to pick up a little bit, and I didn't think much else of the problem. Well on my birthday, April 4th, I took the day off, and I just happened to receive a phone call from my boss asking me if I would like to purchase the company from him. I was in shock and wasn't quite sure what to do. After thinking it over for the day I realized that time was short there and things would be changing fast. I didn't start looking for a job just because I knew that I would be able to stay on with the new owner. As time progressed it came to my attention that by staying on my wages would be decreased significantly, enough to not be able to support a family.

All this lead up to all the events in the month of May. Starting on the 3rd my boss approached me and told me of a job offering that his brothers company (Eagle Air Med) was looking to fill as an Assistant IT. He told me that they would at least guarantee me an interview. Well I figured that I had nothing to lose at this point so I went ahead and applied for it that same day. The next day, May 4th, I was called to schedule an interview. I was excited at how quickly they received my information and called me back. Thursday May, 5th I went in to the interview. As usual I was super nervous and didn't know what to expect. As I was called into the conference room, I was interviewed by the IT manager and the HR coordinator. It was an intense interview lasting nearly 45 minutes. I felt pretty confident on my presentation and could only hope for the best at that point. I asked when they would be getting back to people whether they received the position or not; they told me in about a week...joy. So Friday the 6th rolls around and I'm doing my normal thing at work, and I receive a call from the IT manager informing me that I had been offered the position. I was in shock to hear the good news; acting calmly on the phone until hanging up. I leaped for joy and screamed. Not typical for a guy, but I figured I had just been blessed majoring and needed to let it out. That weekend Ruth and I decided that we needed to move due to the fact that my new job is located in South Jordan, a 60 mile round trip from our current location. We started looking up places to check out and move to. Monday afternoon I picked Ruth up from work and we went and checked out an apartment complex at the north end of Lehi, UT. I was pretty sure this would be the place to move to. We then went and looked inside and both of us had a sick feeling inside telling us this was not the place. On our way back home Ruth had mentioned that we should go check out a complex in Pleasant Grove that I had previously lived at and thoroughly enjoyed. On our way there I had a thought come into my mind of a place I had briefly looked at on craiglist and didn't think much of. So I pulled up the old data, we went and found the place and called the Landlord to see if the place was still available. Unfortunately it wasn't, but he told me to hold on. After a few minutes he came back on the line and told me that there was another one a few doors down that would be available in a few weeks (which was perfect because that's when we were planning on moving). He let us in to view the place and instantly we fell in love with it; Its a townhouse located in the center of Lehi. The price was right and I told the Landlord we would take it. We first had to submit an application for approval. The next day they called us back and told us that we were approved and all we needed was to put our deposit down to hold the place.

So within one week our lives completely changed for the better. I had gotten a job that pays significantly better, with full benefits, a new place, and a chance to really start our lives and hopefully a family eventually. Many more events followed upon getting the new place. We then had to worry about selling our contract. A few weeks prior we had just signed for another year, not knowing that we would be stuck in this situation. Our Landlord is incredibly picky about who moves in, and to find the right tenants was a nightmare. Call after call, applicant after applicant, it seemed as though we weren't getting anywhere. Finally the perfect couple showed up and decided to take our contract. Through some events and frustrations with that we pulled away finally selling our contract. Although due to some certain circumstances we didn't pull out of the situation was we had hoped for but the main thing is that it's done!

On May 23rd I started my new job. I have been super nervous to whole week leading up to starting. I was embarking on a whole new world from what I was coming from. When I arrived at Eagle Air Med, I was greeted with much enthusiasm. The new job is amazing! I get my own private office, and life is great! Things are finally looking up for Ruth and I. We've had many ups and downs trying to figure out what to do with goals and aspirations. Now we can see a light and a future. We hope to soon have children, but for the time being that is on hold til we settle down. As for Ruth, she is still plugging along with Navtec. She is doing well, and enjoys it most days when customers aren't chewing her ear off.

This is a long read, but a just in a few weeks a lot has happened, and it's better to get it down now than later. LOVE YOU ALL!

A Change To Come

I have decided to start a blog. So here I am. We are the Peterson's. My name is Ruth and my husbands name is Brandon. And here is our story so far.
Brandon and I met online about a year and a half ago. We met in January and dated for about four months till we decided to get married that August. We have been married for about a year. and we are loving every minute of it. We are very blessed in our lives.
Well about two months ago Brandon's boss decided to sell the company that he was working for. And so Brandon got a new job and now we are moving to Lehi on the 28. We are packing like crazy and hoping that somebody will come and rent the place that we are trying to move from.

Well hope that I can post something every week. Stay tuned for the next entry. :)
